Its the fifth week here.. half down.. half more to go..
life has nv been easy..
not even when i was here..

Compliments from the researchers in my labs..
though they nv tell mi, the phd sharing my office overheard them talking..
And she came and told mi the news..

Was happy that i was recognised.. that what i did proved to be more than what they expect..
But it comes with its price..
Less time..
More stress..

Time after labs were boring..
too far to go anywhere decent..
lucky there is skype to bring away the after-hours..
Having EURO2008 was another major plus plus..
Watching shows online.. Smallville,supernatural..

What will i do after all these end?
I dunno.. i guess i just have to figure out by myself..
Giving up is not a choice..

3rd week..

Wat a day..

Got to lab in the morning and immediately i was thrown with so much work..
But luckily, i managed to organised them.. and i stopped work at 5..
Came back to my room and waited for dear to skype..
But she had overtime and so didnt managed to talk to her until 1am..

Can u imagine the disappointment?
I certainly felt the full force of it..
i guess i juz got the "hang" of it..

The weather here are juz so gloomy.. so depressing..
I juz need someone to be there for mi.. help mi brighten up my day..

Not a bad day.. weather was good.. view was good.. but very tiring..
Musee du Lourve was so big.. i spent 3 hrs only on 2 sections..
Nonetheless.. every photos were well taken..

PCR.. run gel.. purify.. run gel..
So mundane.. haiz..
Wat to do.. have to get protein in order to do more interesting experiments..

Anyway, when the day came to an end, i checked my NTU email..
The results of the URECA poster competition is out!!
And i got sliver!! YAY!!
Haha.. finally i have some encouragements to further my interest in research..
My lab senior got the platinum awards.. congrats!!
Jiayi also got a peer review assessment!!

Brr..

Okie.. i woke up with a shock..
I looked out of my windows and see white fog..
So i open and window and ITS super COLD..

Its been raining here for 2 days..
And i can see the condensation from my breath..
Its that cold.. i hope it wont rain again tmr..
Pls.. i juz wan normal air con..
Not freezer..

Tired..

Lab was long.. lasted from 9am to 7pm..
After that i immediately rush back to my room to talk to my dear..

1 week!!! I survived!!!
The weather in France is good.. maybe abit dry..
Food is salty but still edible..

Spent a week in lab and got some results going..
For ppl who are interested, i m working on Pyrococcus Abassi MetRS..
For those who are not (actually i dun think ppl will be interested)..
Tell u ppl something interesting..

I went down to get my scholarship on wed, while on the train, there are actually ppl performing..
This guy was playing the violin on the train and it was nice!!
Maybe streetperformers in singapore can do so!!

There are graffiti all over the place, even on walls of bungalows..lol..
France isnt as developed as u ppl may think..
Its quite "old", dirty and maybe worn down.. I think this apply to all the big nations..

Now the French are very elitist in their thinking..
Ecole poly is the top school in France and if u get here is like a major news..
50% of listed companies CEO in France are from Ecole!! Can u believe it?
Each university in France is governed by a ministry and Ecole happened to be a military institute and so its governed by the Ministry of Defence..
Which happens to make this school super rich.. but the place is so worn down=P

The way french do things here are very different. they are very sociable..
"Bonjour" "Salu" greetings that can be heard from strangers..
They hold the doors for strangers.. and they are very polite..
